The short version PrimeHabit does not collect, transmit, or sell any personal data. There is no account, no server, and no analytics. Every habit, streak, note, and reminder you create is stored only in local storage on your own device, and it stays there unless you choose to export it yourself.
§1 Information we collect
PrimeHabit collects nothing about you. There is no sign-up, no login, and no user profile of any kind, so the app never learns your name, email address, or any other identifier.
The only information that exists is the content you type into the app yourself, which is written to a local database on your device:
- Habit names, emojis, categories, and target frequencies
- Completion history and streak counts
- Optional notes attached to a habit
- Reminder times you set for notifications
- App preferences, such as theme and language
None of the above ever leaves your device. PrimeHabit has no way to see it, and neither does anyone else.
§2 Where your data lives
PrimeHabit is built with a local Hive database that lives entirely inside the app's private, sandboxed storage area on your phone or tablet — the same protected space the operating system gives to every app, which other apps cannot read.
PrimeHabit has no backend server. The app makes no network requests to send, sync, or retrieve your habit data — it is fully functional in airplane mode.
§3 Backups & exporting
If you choose to back up your data, PrimeHabit writes a plain JSON file to a location you pick using your device's own file picker. Restoring works the same way in reverse: you select a file, and the app reads it directly.
This export/import happens entirely on-device — nothing is uploaded to us or to any third party. Once a backup file exists, you are responsible for where you store or share it, just as with any other file on your device.
§4 Notifications
Habit reminders are scheduled locally on your device using the operating system's own notification scheduler. There is no push-notification service and no message ever passes through a server of ours — your phone simply wakes itself up at the time you chose.
§5 Permissions we request
PrimeHabit asks for a small set of permissions, each used for exactly one purpose:
| Permission | What it's for |
|---|---|
| Notifications | Show the habit reminders you schedule |
| Exact alarms | Fire reminders at the precise time you picked, not "close enough" |
| Run at device start-up | Re-arm your scheduled reminders after you restart your device |
| Vibrate | Give a reminder a physical nudge alongside the notification sound |
PrimeHabit never requests access to any of the following, and never will unless a future feature genuinely needs it — in which case this policy will be updated first:
§6 Third-party services
PrimeHabit does not integrate any analytics, advertising, or crash-reporting SDKs. There are no third parties in the loop at all:
The open-source libraries PrimeHabit is built on (for local storage, charts, and the calendar view, among others) all run entirely on your device and do not transmit data anywhere.
§7 Data sharing & sale
We do not share, sell, rent, or trade your information with anyone — there is nothing on our end to share, since PrimeHabit never receives your data in the first place.
§8 Your choices
- Edit or delete any habit, note, or completion entry at any time from within the app
- Export a personal backup of everything, whenever you like
- Uninstall the app to permanently erase all of its local data from your device
Because everything lives on your device, you are always the only one with access to it, and deleting it is always fully in your control.
§9 Children's privacy
PrimeHabit is not directed at children and is not designed to collect data from anyone, of any age. Since the app collects no personal information from any user, it does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or the relevant age of consent in your region).
§10 International users
Because PrimeHabit never collects, processes, stores remotely, or transfers personal data — regardless of where you live — regulations like the GDPR (EU/UK) or CCPA (California) that govern how companies handle personal data largely don't come into play: there is no data flowing to us to be governed. You remain the sole holder and controller of the data stored on your own device at all times.
§11 Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the update will be posted on this page with a revised "Last updated" date above. Since PrimeHabit collects no contact information from you, we have no way to notify you directly — meaningful changes will also be noted in the app's release notes.
